The best wedding venue is not simply the prettiest space. It must fit your guest count, ceremony plan, suppliers, budget and the practical needs of the people attending.
Set your requirements before visiting
Write down your expected guest count, preferred towns, ceremony style, reception format and possible dates. Decide whether you need one venue for everything or separate locations for the customary ceremony, church service and reception.
Use this list when browsing wedding venues in Ghana so attractive photographs do not distract from essential requirements.
Check capacity using your real layout
Ask how many people the venue holds with the seating plan you want. A room that fits 300 theatre-style may not fit 300 guests with dining tables, a dance floor, stage, buffet and camera space.
Request a site visit. Walk through guest arrival, parking, washrooms, accessibility, catering access and emergency exits. If older relatives or children will attend, consider shade, walking distance and seating comfort.
Understand what the hire fee includes
Venue packages vary. Confirm whether the price includes chairs, tables, linen, cleaning, security, generators, air-conditioning, bridal room, kitchen access, setup hours and teardown time. Ask which items must come from approved suppliers.
Record overtime charges, corkage, damage deposits and cancellation terms. A lower venue fee can become more expensive when essential items are separate.
Prepare for rain and power interruptions
For gardens and open-air spaces, ask to see the wet-weather plan—not just hear that one exists. Confirm when the decision to move indoors must be made and whether the backup space can hold every guest.
Ask about backup electricity for lighting, sound, refrigeration and air-conditioning. Clarify who starts and fuels the generator.
Coordinate every supplier
Share venue access times and restrictions with the planner, decorator, caterer, photographer, DJ and rental company. Confirm where suppliers can unload and when installations must be removed.
